The Doctoral Consortium is a parallel event at CAPSI, open to doctoral students who wish to present and discuss their research in Information Systems. It is an event that provides a valuable opportunity for doctoral students to meet peers, exchange ideas on research topics, methods and techniques, and receive constructive feedback in a supportive environment from fellow students and experienced professors.
To benefit from the Doctoral Consortium, participants must have completed at least one year of doctoral studies and/or have at least one year remaining before the planned submission of their thesis.
Submissions must clearly describe the research approach and its rationale. But other elements can be included such as the main scientific or technological challenges, the results achieved to date and plans for future work.
Each submission must include the student’s name and institutional affiliation, the doctoral programme and higher education institution, as well as a letter of approval from the doctoral supervisor(s). It should have a format equivalent to a research-in-progress document for CAPSI. The number of words in the article should not exceed 4000.
To promote a productive dialogue, participants are expected to read their peers’ submissions in advance and actively contribute to the discussion during the event. The lecturers will moderate and enrich the discussion.
Each participant will give a 15-minute presentation, followed by 20 to 30 minutes of discussion centred on their research.
To ensure a productive and engaging experience, the number of participants will be limited.
Submissions must be made by 11th July 2025, through the e-mail capsi25@uac.pt Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their submission to the Doctoral Consortium by 18th July 2025.
Detailed information on the logistics and organisation of the event will be provided in due course.
The final versions of the accepted papers will be published in a digital proceedings book.
